A female Sumatran orangutan who had become dangerously isolated in a small patch of forest inside a rubber plantation in the North Sumatra district of Langkat district was rescued this week in a joint operation between the Indonesian wildlife authority (BKSDA) and the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC) Human Orangutan Conflict Response Unit (HOCRU).
