Charles Southwick (1928-2015), who spent more than six decades studying primates and published nearly 200 papers, books and articles, passed away this week at the age of 86 in the U.S. Southwick is the namesake for the International Primatological Society (IPS) annual Southwick Conservation Education Commitment Award, given to young conservationists in primate countries who are dedicated to education outreach.
