Yvette, a female chimpanzee who was born in the wild in Africa but was captured as an infant and spent over 3 decades in biomedical research as a test subject and breeder, turned an estimated 47 years of age this week. Yvette had 4 offspring taken from her, but was transferred to the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Florida, USA, and now enjoys making nests out of blankets and hugging her best friend, Mandy.
