An infant female Bornean orangutan who was being kept illegally as a pet in the Pulang Pulau Regency was seized by the Indonesian wildlife authority (BKSDA) and the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) recently and transferred to the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Central Kalimantan. Nicknamed “Bawan,” the orangutan was found to have a bullet lodged in her left knee, even though her captor said he found her alone in a field. For more, visit http://buff.ly/2daFdqF
