Lomela, a female Western Lowland gorilla who was born and raised in German zoos and became one of the oldest of her species in captivity in Europe, died this week at the Wuppertal Zoo following an acute intestinal infection. She was 43 years of age. Lomela had no offspring, but was one of 6 siblings and was known to zoo visitors for her droopy lower lip. For more, visit http://ift.tt/1OVjPmM http://ift.tt/1SRzpyY
