A 3rd major illegal wildlife kingpin was arrested this week in Guinea, following a joint operation between Guinean police, the Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB), and the EAGLE Network’s Guinée- Application de la Loi Faunique (GALF). Balla Doumbouya was the director of the “Doumbouya Pets Company Import-Export” and is suspected of having illegally trafficked chimpanzees, manatees, and other endangered wildlife around the world since 2009 using fraudulent CITES permits.
