Bonobos use finger-pointing, hand gestures to communicate. According to new research, conducted by a team of scientists from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Germany’s Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, female bonobos consistently contextualize their vocal communication with referential gesturing.
