Susie, a female Sumatran orangutan who was captured from the wild in Asia in the late 1960s and has lived at the Gladys Porter - Brownsville (USA) Zoo since 1970, turned 52 years of age this week. Susie was one of the first orangutans to have her DNA decoded. She has given birth 5 times, and shares her enclosure with her children and grandchildren.
