Colo, a female Western Lowland gorilla who was the first of her species ever born in captivity in 1956 and lived to be the oldest in the world, died in her sleep this week at the age of 60. Colo spent her entire life at the Columbus (USA) Zoo, and was the mother of 3, the grandmother of 16, the great-grandmother of 12, and the great-great-grandmother of 3.
