Motambo, the young male chimpanzee who nearly died from tetanus and internal injuries after being confiscated from illegal traders earlier this month on the Congo River, is making a rapid recovery at the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre. The wounds on his waist and wrist are healing quickly, and he is now calm, relaxed, and eating well. He is also extremely curious about the other chimpanzees at the centre, and will soon join 6 females in a social group. (Photo courtesy Fernando Turmo / JGI-Congo) http://on.fb.me/PGD9I0

A recent study published in Science magazine calculated it would cost USD $80 billion per year to “lower the extinction risk” of every endangered species on earth. That works out to a contribution of USD $11.42 per year from every person on earth. For more, visit http://aol.it/Rq08C6. http://on.fb.me/Pl4vlC
