Hannah, an adult female chimpanzee who spent over 2 decades life in bio-medical research laboratories in the USA before being transferred to the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Florida in 2001, collapsed and died this week from heart disease. She was 36 years of age. Although Hannah arrived at Save the Chimps with severe psychological trauma, she grew into a playful and supportive member of Doug’s social group.
