An adult male Sumatran orangutan who had become isolated in a forest patch inside am oil palm plantation in Tripa was captured this week by the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP). Nicknamed “Makmur,” the orangutan was released again at the SOCP’s Jantho Orangutan Reintroduction Centre in Aceh Besar - making 99 orangutans released in Jantho now since project began there in 2011.
