After a prolonged campaign by Egyptian animal welfare groups, Central Zoos officials have finally agreed to transfer a solitary male chimpanzee, Meshmesh, from the Alexandria Zoo to the Giza Zoo in Cairo, where he will be closer to 5 other chimpanzees.
