The first-ever court hearing against a palm oil company was postponed this week when the defendant, PT Kallista Alam, failed to appear. PT Kallista Alam is being sued by Indonesia’s environment ministry for illegally burning and destroying large sections of the Tripa peat swamp in Sumatra in September.
