An infant male gorilla that was discovered caught in a snare by the left wrist near the Kahuzi-Biega National Park in DR Congo has been rescued. Kalonge, who is thought to be an Eastern Lowland (Grauer’s) gorilla pending DNA confirmation, is being cared for by Gorilla Doctors staff at the Senkwekwe sanctuary next to the Virunga National Park.
