Notorious West African wildlife smuggler Ousmane Diallo was apprehended March 21 in Conakry following an operation led by the Guinea’s National Central Bureau (NCB) of #INTERPOL and supported by the GALF (Guinée Application de la Loi Faunique) conservation organization. Diallo – who had been sentenced last year to six months in prison and a $6,600 USD fine for illegally trading hundreds of #chimpanzees and other endangered wildlife — was a fugitive from justice after failing to attend two appeal hearings.
