An infant Bornean orangutan kept as a pet by a family on a houseboat in the Mentaya River in Central Kalimantan was confiscated today by the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP), in collaboration with the Indonesian wildlife authority (BKSDA). Nicknamed “Lanting” – a Bahasa word that means “floating homes” – the orangutan will be taken to a rehabilitation centre. For more, visit http://ift.tt/1nEF0Jn. http://ift.tt/1pX1Wbj
