Nyango, the only Cross River gorilla known to exist in captivity, is battling arthritis and other ailments as a result of age and incessant rains at the Limbe Wildlife Centre in Cameroon. Nyango, who was rescued from illegal traders in 1994 and is thought to be approximately 24 years of age, is receiving a special diet and regular veterinary care.
