Fossey, a male Western Lowland gorilla who was diagnosed with cardiovascular disease 7 years ago, collapsed and died unexpectedly this week at the age of 28 at the Little Rock (USA) Zoo. Fossey was father to 2 offspring and arrived in Little Rock from the Columbus (USA) Zoo in 1993. He was named after famed gorilla researcher Dian Fossey.
