Two of the last remaining “talking” chimpanzees will be moved from the Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute (CHCI) in Washington, USA, to a sanctuary in Canada. Louis, 35, and Tatu, 37 – both of whom can communicate through sign language – will join the Fauna Foundation in Quebec as soon as possible, in order to interact with a much larger social group.
