An illegal trader in possession of 8 chimpanzee skulls – in addition to other wildlife trophies – was arrested in Cameroon this week following a joint operation between the Last Great Ape Organization (LAGA), Cameroon’s Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife and local police. The seizure brings to 55 the number of great ape skulls seized in Africa in 2015, and the investigation revealed the trafficker moved significant amounts of contraband and had international connections.
