An infant female Sumatran orangutan reportedly “found” alone at the edge of a farm in Aceh has been rescued by the Orangutan Information Centre, in collaboration with Indonesian wildlife authorities (BKSDA). The orangutan, estimated to be 1.5 years old, is currently receiving care at the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) rehabilitation centre.
