A juvenile female Bornean orangutan who had spent the last 2 years chained by the neck to a tree without shelter in Ketapang was saved by International Animal Rescue (IAR) and transported to its rehabilitation centre. Nicknamed “Japik,” the oranguatan was found shivering under an old coat during a rainstorm, and was so weak from malnutrition and inactivity that she could hardly walk.
