Erik Meijaard: Credit Running Out for the ‘Orang Outang’ As we speak, the Bornean orangutan is being declared Critically Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Basically that means that we expect it to go extinct in the wild in the near future unless something radical is done to prevent that.
