Mongo, a male chimpanzee who was known for the hereditary disease that left him essentially hairless, died this week at the Twycross (UK) Zoo while being treated for an infection. He was 22 years of age. Mongo suffered from alopecia, which he shared with his father, Jambo, but died under anesthesia while being examined for an enlarged air sac.
