An infant male Sumatran orangutan who was dressed in human clothes and kept illegally as a pet by a local member of parliament in West Aceh was seized this week by the Indonesian wildlife authority (BKSDA) and the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC) and taken to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) for rehabilitation.
