Illegal trade activist Ofir Drori was honored with the Duke of Edinburgh Conservation Medal in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London on Monday. Drori, founder of the Last Great Ape Organization (LAGA), was presented the medal by His Royal Highness Prince Phillip after dedicating the past decade to battling corruption and halting the trade in great apes and ivory throughout central Africa.
