UNEP-DEPI director Ibrahim Thiaw spoke Saturday on “Biodiversity, Productivity & Consumption for the Future We Want” as part of the “20/20 Talks: 20 Topics for 20 Targets” at the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) meeting underway in Hyderabad, India. Thiaw said that 50% of the world’s great apes have been lost over the last 50 years. “We need to change our lifestyle,” he said. “If everybody has the same lifestyle as in North America in particular, we would need 7 planets. And we only have one. Every single country will need to change its lifestyle.” For more, visit www.cbd.int. http://on.fb.me/W3dLxrwww.cbd.int. http://on.fb.me/W3dLxr
