A juvenile male Sumatran orangutan who had been chained by the neck between two houses Aceh Barat Daya for more than a year was seized this week by the Indonesia wildlife authority (BKSDA), local police and the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC). The orangutan was taken to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP), where he will undergo the rehabilitation process. He is the 16th orangutan seized since September.
