An infant male Bornean orangutan being carried inside a rice sack by two hunters with an air rifle in Central Kalimantan was seized this week by the Indonesian wildlife authority (BKSDA) and the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP). Estimated to be less than a year old, the orangutan is the 14th seized since August, and is being transferred to Orangutan Foundation International’s rehabilitation centre in Pangkalan Bun.
