An infant female Bornean orangutan who had been kept illegally as a pet and treated like a human child – even wearing clothes and sleeping in the owner’s bed – was seized by the Indonesian wildlife authority (BKSDA) and local police this week in Sei Awan, Ketapang, and turned over to International Animal Rescue (IAR). Nicknamed “Bianca,” the 3-year old orangutan’s existence has been known since 2015, but the owners repeatedly refused to release her.For more, visit http://ift.tt/2e9UYRL http://ift.tt/2dgKtcR
