An infant male Bornean orangutan who was captured after being discovered in a village garden in Bagendang, Lepeh River, Central Kalimantan, was seized this week by the Indonesia wildlife authority (BKSDA), local police officials and the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP). Although illegal traders offered to buy the orangutan, villagers refused and contacted the authorities instead. This is the 17th Bornean orangutan seized since August.
