Dr Birute Galdikas, a world-leading orangutan scientist and one of the legendary Trimates, is advocating for introduction of mandatory palm oil labeling legislation in Australia. The United Nations estimates that almost half of all supermarket products contain palm oil, but current legislation allows food manufacturers to only list it as vegetable oil.
