A male chimpanzee who was severely injured in a clash with the alpha male at the Wellington (New Zealand) Zoo died during emergency surgery. Temba (pictured), a 21-year old, fought with Marty (28) and received a deep wound on the back of his leg, but failed to come out of his anesthesia during surgery and was euthanized.
