Lobo, a female Western Lowland gorilla who was captured from the wild in Africa as an infant but eventually became the oldest of her species at the Apenheul Primate Park in The Netherlands, died this week after contracting a severe gastro-intestinal infection. She was 42 years of age. Lobo came to Apenheul as part of the founder group in 1975, and ultimately gave birth to 11 offspring. For more, visit http://buff.ly/1OKGIJt
