The Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort & Spa in Borneo has announced it will close its controversial orangutan rehabilitation programme later this year. Although over 40 orangutans went through the hotel’s facilities, the programme drew sharp criticism from conservationists who claim the orangutans were illegally used in photos opportunities with tourists.
