Mika, the dominant male at the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Uganda since 2004, was found dead in the forest enclosure after a three-day search by rescue teams when he failed to return to the night facilities. Confiscated as an infant from Akefs Egyptian Circus as it passed through Kampala in 1993, Mika was thought to be 21 years of age. No cause of death is yet known.
