Afangui, a juvenile female Western Lowland gorilla that was confiscated in 2012 after being used as a tourist attraction on a beach in Equatorial Guinea, has died. Afangui was transferred to the Ape Action Africa sanctuary in Cameroon and adjusted quickly, but fell ill approximately one month ago and did not recover. (Photo courtesy Jenny Brown).
