Casey, a female chimpanzee who had been raised as a pet in the USA but ultimately became too big and strong, died this week as a result of a heart attack at the Center for Great Apes sanctuary in Florida, USA. Casey was 28. It was also discovered that Casey had cancer in her lungs. Casey arrived at the sanctuary 6 years ago with her life-long friend, Murray, and later became close with Katie.
