An infant male Bornean orangutan who had been kept as a pet in a tiny wooden cage for 4 months was seized with the help of the leader of a Dayak indigenous council by International Animals Rescue (IAR) and the Indonesian wildlife authorities. Nicknamed “Jacko,” the orangutan was found alone in an oil palm plantation, according to his owner, but surrendered him when advised of the illegality of keeping an endangered species.
