An adult male Bornean orangutan was relocated by International Animal Rescue (IAR) this week after becoming isolated in a patch of forest that was surrounded by oil palm plantations in Ketapang, Western Borneo. Nicknamed “Hans,” the orangutan was estimated at 15 years of age and extremely thin and malnourished, but healthy enough to be released into the forest near Mount Tarak.
