A young female chimpanzee that had been kept illegally for 3 years after being bought as a pet was surrendered this week to the Limbe Wildlife Centre sanctuary in Cameroon. Nicknamed “Madame,” the chimpanzee had been handed over to the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife before being routed to Limbe, but was suffering from injuries that left her unable to grasp with her right hand.
