Lomela, an orphaned bonobo who was nursed back to health by the Lola ya Bonobo sanctuary in DR Congo before being returned to the wild in 2009, gave birth to her first baby recently in the forests of the Congo Basin as part of the Ekolo ya Bonobo reintroduction programme.
