An infant Bornean orangutan who had been kept illegally in a tiny wooden cage by villagers in Central Kalimantan was confiscated this week in a joint operation by the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP), the Indonesian wildlife authority (BSKDA), and the Sampit police department. The orangutan – and a juvenile gibbon who was also kept as a pet – were taken to the COP quarantine center. For more, visit http://ift.tt/1nEF0Jn. http://ift.tt/1pu2ln7
