The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has given exotic pet owners 30 days to surrender their wildlife or face a fine of $27,000 USD and having their animals confiscated. Emirati officials currently seize 25 mammals and reptiles each month. Animals surrendered in the current moratorium will be offered to zoos in the Middle East and Europe.
