An infant female chimpanzee who had been kept as a pet for years by poachers in Guinea was confiscated recently and transferred to the Centre de Conservation pour Chimpanzes (CCC) sanctuary. Nicknamed “Mouky,” the chimpanzee arrived in a highly stressful state with little natural instincts, but is quickly making progress and will be integrated into a social group as soon as possible.
