A juvenile Western Lowland gorilla who was reported eating from village farms in southern Cameroon was rescued this week by the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Centre – which does not provide care for gorillas – and transferred to the Ape Action Africa sanctuary instead. Nicknamed “Parry,” it is believed the gorilla is a bushmeat orphan who had been raised as a pet, since he does not fear humans. Estimated to 5 years of age, Parry will join Ape Action Africa’s other gorillas once he clears quarantine. For more, visit http://buff.ly/1t5RFOl
