Janey, the oldest Bornean orangutan and one of the last wild-caught of her species in North America, was euthanized this week following complications from a heart problem at the San Diego (USA) Zoo. Janey was captured in 1962, and spent 22 years in British zoos and private collections before reaching the USA in 1984. She gave birth 6 times.
