A male Sumatran orangutan who had been kept as a pet in a tiny cage for 20 years was rescued and relocated to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) rehabilitation centre this week , following a joint operation between the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC) and the Indonesian wildlife authorities (BKSDA).
