An infant female Bornean orangutan who was kept illegally as a pet by an oil palm company employee in the Katingan Regency who claimed to have found her alone in a field was seized recently by Indonesian wildlife authorities (BKSDA) and the Bornean Orangutan Survival Foundation. Nicknamed Suci, the orangutan is estimated to be 18 months old, and was taken to the Nayru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Central Kalimantan to begin the recovery process.
